Got the mi nuoc dac biet and it was good, but not great. Definitely a nourishing bowl of noodle soup, but I wish the broth had a bit more complex and umami flavor. The noodles and meat were cooked well! For the price, it was very affordable and nourishing. I would give it a 4/5. The iced tea here is free, and I enjoyed the tea very much! Service - Our server was super friendly and the food came out quickly! Ambiance - Quiet and homey feeling. It was not crowded at all when we went. Overall, I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bowl of noodle soup for an affordable price!

After searching far and wide for my precious Hu Tieu Ba Nam, I stumbled across Hu Tieu Thanh Xuan. Now, the dish may not share the exact name but it is essentially the bootleg version of my beloved Ba Nam noodles- consisting of a red colored, tomato-y meat sauce. Our family of 3 arrived for some much needed breakfast and although I was super excited, I mentally prepared myself for disappointment since that's pretty much been the case all across the board for my quest to find a decent bowl. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by the owner. He quickly seated us and provided menus. To be honest, the menu is really big. So big that it could be classified as overwhelming. On a positive note, the offerings consist of legit staples within traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Hu tieu (rice noodles), mi (egg noodles), bun (vermicelli), com tam (rice plates), & bo kho (beef stew) - just to name a few. Breakfast consisted of: Mi Bo Vien- egg noodle soup with beef balls Hu Tiéu Dai Thanh Xuan Dac Biét- Thanh Xuan special house noodles (with tapioca noodles) Tra Da (complimentary ice tea) Nuoc Mat (complimentary Vietnamese herbal cooling drink) A heaping plate of fresh herbs and veggies were provided and let me emphasize, again, on the word "FRESH"!!! HTTH doesn't mess around when it comes to quality ingredients nor do they skimp on portions in order to increase profits. Egg noodle soup was good. The flavors in the broth was really enjoyed and well balanced. The house special noodles were doable- not bad but nothing amazing. I found the infamous red sauce to be a bit too sweet for my tastebuds and the texture was too watery compared to the thick meaty sauce I'm used to having. Squeezing my wedges of lime to death was a good way to offset the sweetness. The tapioca noodles were cooked perfect, leaving me with a nice chewy bite that I always long for. Extra points for the restaurant's pickled chili peppers and the garlic slivers. These babies elevated my noodles in ways I didn't think was possible. This also helped cut through the sweetness of the red sauce and the pickling added a nice refreshing bite to each mouthful. 4 stars!! Although this isn't exactly what I was looking for when it comes too Ba Nam noodles, it does the job. Food is pretty good and the prices don't break the bank. I absolutely foresee future visits, just keep those containers of garlic coming!!! Until next time...

Came back for lunch Sunday. The place was empty, no other guests, no wait, WTH? Still nice, clean but parking may be difficult on weekends. Small noodle bowl is now $9, large bowl $11, includes a free cold drink. Will try their other soup like bun bo Hue. The large bowl is huge, really filled me up with a decent amount of roast pork, shrimp, quail eggs, I wished there were more. The broth is nice, clean, tasty, about right, not too thin, too thick or over spiced. This place is one of my favorite noodle places, recommended.

This small restaurant is located across the Asian garden mall. There's a huge parking lot that you can park in but there's a lot of car traffic. We ordered the hu tieu Thanh xuan dac biet because we saw it on tik tok (lol). The sauce has a mild tomato flavor that can be emulsified with the soup on the side. I loveeeee their pickled garlic. I never eat garlic but it tastes so good with it. They accept credit card as well and the host/waiter working there speaks English and Vietnamese. So if you're non-Vietnamese speaking, don't hesitate to stop by or ask questions about their food!
